Swim School Coordinator



Summary of Main Responsibilities



To manage and coordinate the Swim School programme, including the successful growth of the Learn to Swim programme within budget.

1. To successfully manage and ensure continued growth within the Learn to Swim Programme, ranging from pre school to Adult including Private Lessons

2. To ensure Swimming Lessons within Egham Orbit are operated in accordance with the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework

3. To establish a pathway between the Learn to Swim Programme and Club Swimming

4. To provide support and manage Swimming Teachers to ensure quality and consistency is achieved using wider knowledge to encourage best practice in all areas of swimming.

5. Liaise with parents and swimmers to ensure all feedback is reviewed, acknowledged, and responded to.

6. To make change to the programme and ensure movements on course pro are regularly reviewed.

Specific Responsibilities



Operations



1. Effective management of the day to day running of swimming lessons, ensuring standards of customer service are maintained.

2. Maintaining and developing high quality standards within the swim lesson programme, ensuring all lessons always have suitable cover

3. Managing all aspects of health and safety within swimming lesson department

Planning



1. To explore ways to increase the utilisation of swimming lessons to maximise income

2. To introduce a robust private swimming lesson programme

3. To plan and implement holiday short courses at each holiday period focussing on stages where income can be maximised

4. Ensuring a clear training programme is implemented for all Swim Teachers

5. Ensuring effective communications are undertaken through the marketing, branding and promotion of the Swimming Lessons

6. To explore ways to increase the diversity and inclusion of the Swim School

Development



1. To develop and implement a clear and concise pathway for the learn to Swim Programme

2. Liaise with local swim and aquatic clubs to build relationships

3. Liaise with Swim England and other relevant aquatic organisations to ensure opportunities to develop, create and improve the swim offering at Egham Orbit is maximised

4. Create a Continuous Personal Development (CPD) programme for current swim teachers

5. Communicate with local stakeholders/user groups (customers, schools, and clubs) to ensure that a high-quality service is delivered.

Staff



1. Personnel matters and effective management and development of all staff within the Swim Teacher team.

2. Identify workforce requirements and gain approval from Sport Development Manager before completing the recruitment process for all new staff

3. Ensure a thorough induction is completed for every new staff member to ensure the high standards set are followed at all times

4. To ensure effective communication is in place with staff, to allow them the ability to perform their duties to the require standard, and to ensure they feel part of the overall company.

5. To monitor, measure, evaluate and review staff against agreed targets, working methods and service objectives.

6. Ensure regular meetings are scheduled with swim teachers

7. Create and manage curriculum for teachers

Poolside Safety



1. To monitor the through care process

2. Accountable for poolside lesson equipment and certificates, including stock takes and ordering, ensuring costs are within budget

Communications / Marketing



1. To communicate with staff and customers on matters relating to customer comments and customer satisfaction, undertaking appropriate action when required.

2. Consult with customers and parents of swim school participants on all matters related to the Learn to Swim Programme.

3. Create and manage feedback opportunities for both swim teachers and customers.

Qualifications

o Swimming Teacher Level 2 (Essential)

Experience



o Proven experience within the leisure industry

o Experience managing a swimming programme

o Experience of working Leisure Management and swim programme software

Attributes / Skills



o Enthusiastic about sports / leisure and the customer experience.

o Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.

o Exemplary communication skills

o Ability to motivate others and lead by example

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12,968.80-14,050.40 per year

Expected hours: 20 per week
