Job Description

To start in November 2025, our Sports Centre has a very exciting opportunity for a qualified Swimming Co-ordinator, to efficiently organise the swimming programme delivering swimming lessons to individuals of varying ability.


The Role





Working closely with the Operations Manager you will be responsible for coordinating lessons, managing swim instructors, and driving commercial growth through structured programmes and training courses. You'll also oversee administrative processes, ensure compliance with safeguarding and health & safety policies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Centre.



This is a varied and rewarding role for someone with strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, and a passion for swimming education and development.


Key responsibilities include:




Delivering and supporting the school swimming programme. Managing commercial swimming activities including term-time lessons, crash courses, and 1:1 sessions. Leading swim instructor recruitment, training, and performance reviews. Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate records. Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and operational procedures. Liaising with parents, instructors, and Centre staff to ensure high-quality service and pupil development.

20 hours per week (52 weeks per year)

FTE 32,842 (16,421 pro rata)



We're looking for someone who brings both expertise and energy to the role. You'll be a qualified swimming instructor with a Level 2 ASA/Swim England or STA Full Qualification, and hold a valid NPLQ. Confident in your ability to instruct swimmers of all ages and abilities, you'll be passionate about helping individuals progress and thrive in the water. Highly organised and flexible, you'll be a strong communicator who can motivate others and contribute positively to the team.

The School and the Centre





Oundle and Laxton Junior Schools have long been associated with the very best of modern independent education, especially boarding. After accommodating the educational and social demands of the pupils the School is eager to develop wider access to the Centre and encourages participation by local community in a range of Sports and Leisure activities organised and managed by the Centre's staff.



Our State of the Art Sports Centre offers a wide range of classes, fitness facilities and activities on a commercial basis, as well as numerous courses, children's holiday clubs and organised parties. Our facilities include a 50-metre swimming pool, an 8-court hall, a 70-station fitness suite, a dedicated dance studio and three further multipurpose studios.
