Alpha Aquatics Academy is a brand-new swim school launching in Newcastle upon Tyne. We offer high-quality, engaging swimming lessons for children aged 4-11 following the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework -- and we're expanding to offer Baby & Toddler sessions too.

We're looking for enthusiastic, qualified, and child-focused

Swimming Instructors

to join our teaching team. Whether you're passionate about teaching beginner swimmers or love working with babies and toddlers in the water, we want to hear from you!

Duties

Plan and deliver fun, structured swimming lessons in line with the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework (Stages 1-7) or Baby & Toddler curriculum. Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all children. Monitor and record swimmer progress, providing feedback to parents where appropriate. Ensure the highest standard of safety, professionalism, and care at all times. Support a positive team environment and uphold the values of Alpha Aquatics Academy. Maintain equipment and ensure pool area safety protocols are followed.

Experience

All applicants must have:

Swim England or STA Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification (essential) Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain) Valid Lifeguard qualification (NPLQ or NRASTC) Current First Aid certificate Previous experience delivering children's swimming lessons Friendly, reliable, and confident communicator, especially with children and parents Ability to work weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday)

Baby & Toddler Teaching Role (additional):

Specific qualification in teaching Baby & Toddler swimming (e.g. STA Baby & Pre-School or equivalent) Experience working with infants and early years in a swim setting

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 18.00-20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 4 per week
