We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for swimming and teaching, with the ability to educate individuals of all ages and skill levels. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a crucial role in promoting water safety and developing swimming skills in a supportive environment.
Duties
Conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups (maximum 5 swimmers with a helper for younger stages), ensuring that each session is tailored to the participants' abilities and goals.
Educate students on water safety practices and swimming techniques, fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
Develop lesson plans that are engaging, effective, and aligned with best practices in swim instruction.
Maintain a safe and clean environment in and around the pool area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with students and their guardians regarding progress, concerns, or any necessary adjustments to lesson plans.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching techniques and stay current with industry standards.
Qualifications
Experience in sports coaching or swim instruction is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
Qualified Swimming Instructor STA or Swim England
Safety Award in Teachers is preferred but essential as we will ensure training is completed prior to start date
Strong communication skills with the ability to educate effectively across various age groups.
A passion for swimming and promoting water safety.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Relevant certifications in lifeguarding would be advantageous but can be obtained post-hire.
Must be able to demonstrate swimming proficiency at an advanced level.
