We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our aquatic programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching swimming skills to individuals of all ages and abilities, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and educational environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your sports coaching and teaching skills while promoting water safety and confidence among participants. The Swim Instructor will work closely with clients to develop customised lesson plans, monitor progress, and foster a positive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities
Deliver structured swimming lessons tailored to the needs of each participant, from beginners to advanced levels.
Ensure the safety of all swimmers by adhering to strict safety protocols and supervising activities at all times.
Assess individual skill levels and set achievable goals to promote continuous improvement.
Maintain a clean and organised pool area, ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
Communicate effectively with participants and their guardians regarding progress, safety instructions, and programme updates.
Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and any incidents or concerns during lessons.
Promote water safety awareness and encourage confidence-building in the water through engaging instruction.
Skills
Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably within aquatic environments.
Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire learners of all ages.
Excellent organisational skills to plan lessons effectively and track participant progress.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond swiftly in emergency situations.
A friendly, approachable demeanour that fosters a positive learning environment.
Relevant certifications in swimming instruction or lifeguarding are desirable but not essential; training will be provided if necessary. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about teaching and sports coaching who wish to make a meaningful difference in water safety education while developing their professional skills within a supportive team environment.
