St Christopher School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic
Swimming Teacher
to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for the Swimming supervision and teaching of lessons delivered under the umbrella of the St Chris Swim School.
This will be for children from a range of ages and abilities (Pre-School through to Improvers to Pre-Competitive level swimmers and adults). St Chris is an independent day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 3 to 18 located in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. Our School was established in 1915 and, since then, has been working to do things differently if, and only if, it makes things better for our students. There are currently around 500 pupils on roll and 200 staff.
Qualifications, training and experience:
ASA Level 2 Certificate in
Swimming/Coaching or experienced
ASA Level 1
Teaching a range of ages and abilities, including pre-school and adult beginners/improvers. Preparing written progress reports for swimmers. Poolside risk assessments and maintaining a safe teaching environment.
Roles and responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and progressive swimming lessons to pupils of all ages and abilities, following the St Chris Swim School Programme.
Monitor and assess swimmer progress, providing individualised feedback and maintaining accurate records.
Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation.
Administer first aid and emergency treatments if qualified (training will be provided if required).
Attend regular staff training sessions and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses to maintain teaching quality and skills.
Maintain relevant qualifications such as NRASTC or NPLQ, where applicable.
Uphold all safeguarding policies to ensure the safety, well-being, and protection of children and young people.
Promote and model inclusive, equitable, and diverse practices in line with St Chris Equal Opportunities policy.
Carry out any additional duties reasonably requested by the Head of Swimming or school management.
