Overview


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our pop up pools team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in swim instructing, with the ability to educate individuals of all ages and skill levels between the ages of 4 - 12. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a vital role in promoting water safety, enhancing swimming skills, and fostering a love for swimming among participants in our pools to schools programme.

Our Pools to Schools programme rotates to different schools in Bedford/Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. You will be situated at the school for 2 weeks up to 7 weeks and the pools run 30-32 weeks a year in term time and travel is essential.

We have optional hours in School Holidays at our Activity Camps as a Camp Manager or Activity Leader.

Responsibilities



Conduct engaging and effective swim lessons for individuals and groups, ensuring that each participant receives personalised attention. Assess the skill level of swimmers and develop tailored lesson plans to meet their specific needs. Educate students on water safety practices, swimming techniques and build water confidence Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to swimmers to help them improve their skills. Maintain a safe and clean swimming environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise. Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance teaching methods and stay updated on best practices in swim instruction.

Experience



Previous experience as a swim instructor or swim coach is preferred but not essential; a strong enthusiasm for teaching is crucial. Demonstrated ability to educate individuals of varying ages and abilities in a supportive manner. Knowledge of various swimming techniques and training methods is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students and their families. Certification in lifeguarding or first aid is beneficial but not mandatory.

The role is subjected to an enhanced DBS check.
