Taunton based swim teacher

Groups or 121 lessons.

Weekday evening hours after school and weekend hours available.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our aquatic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching swimming skills to individuals of all ages and abilities, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and educational environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your sports coaching and teaching skills while promoting water safety and confidence among participants. The Swim Instructor will play a vital part in fostering a positive experience that encourages lifelong engagement with swimming.

Duties

Deliver structured swimming lessons tailored to the needs of diverse age groups and skill levels Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and water safety practices Monitor participants during lessons to ensure safety and provide individualised feedback Organise and supervise warm-up activities and drills before lessons commence Maintain a clean and organised pool area, adhering to health and safety regulations Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding progress and safety protocols Assist in planning lesson plans that promote skill development, confidence, and enjoyment in water Support the organisation of special aquatic programmes or events as required

Requirements

Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably within aquatic environments Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate learners of all ages Certification in lifeguarding or water safety (desirable but not essential) Ability to work flexibly, including weekends or evenings if required A genuine passion for teaching and promoting water safety Organised, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team Previous experience working with children or vulnerable groups is advantageous
