Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our aquatic programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching swimming skills to individuals of all ages and abilities in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your coaching and teaching skills while promoting water safety and confidence among participants.

Responsibilities

Deliver structured swimming lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to pool safety protocols and supervising activities at all times Provide clear instructions and constructive feedback to help learners improve their technique and confidence in the water Organise lesson plans and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs Maintain a clean and organised pool area, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional Promote a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation and enjoyment of swimming Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and any incidents or concerns during lessons

Skills

Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably within aquatic environments Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage learners of diverse ages and backgrounds Knowledge of water safety standards and first aid procedures Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills to plan effective lessons Enthusiastic, patient, and approachable demeanour with a passion for teaching swimming Relevant certifications such as ASA/STA Swimming Teacher qualifications or equivalent are highly desirable
