Job Description

SWIMMING INSTRUCTORS (CASUAL & PART TIME)



We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and reliable swimming instructors with a genuine passion for teaching. We have opportunities available for term-time instructors on weeknights and weekends, as well as cover teachers for evening and weekend shifts in Northwood and Harrow.

Duties included:

To plan and deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work using the Swim England framework, appropriate to the level of a given swimmer.



Ensure all sessions are delivered in accordance with established safety standards and procedures. Collaborate effectively with the Swimming Supervisor, other Swimming Teachers, Lifeguards, and support staff to maintain a consistently safe swimming environment. Act as a positive role model, fostering a fun, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere to motivate and encourage both children and adults. Identify individual abilities and provide tailored encouragement to help participants reach their full potential. Deliver clear explanations and demonstrations of swimming techniques, correcting faults and providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement. Evaluate each session and assess participants' progress regularly, updating the tablets at each session.

Agree to abide by the code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with Swim England policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children, health and safety at work, etc.



Essential Criteria for Successful Applicants:

ASA/Swim England Level 2 (STA or AUS SWIM equivalent accepted) Clear, enhanced DBS. This can be completed by Push & Glide LTD if not registered for the update service. Checkable reference Current valid Swim England safeguarding certificate (or be willing to complete the online zoom course within 1 month of acceptance offer). CPD Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework Stages 8-10 Swimming (or be willing to complete the online zoom course within 1 month of acceptance offer).
Desired, by not essential requirements:

Current Lifeguard qualification (NPLQ) RLSS NRASTC Award (STA equivalent accepted)
*All applicants will be required to teach a 30-minute trial lesson before being offered teaching hours

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 23.00-25.00 per hour
