Systems Accountant

to join our team based in

Cheadle, Greater Manchester.

You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a market competitive salary

As

Systems Accountant

, the successful candidate will play an integral role in configuring and developing Human Appeals global financial system (Dynamics 365 Business Central) and performing business process analysis and user engagement to ensure that Human Appeals financial systems evolve in line with operational needs, global strategy and regional compliance requirements.

Some of the key duties and responsibilities of the

Systems Accountant:




Act as the subject matter expert for Business Central (BC) delivering configuration, workflow automation, and enhancement of modules including GL, AP, AR, and reporting. Collaborate with finance teams to translate business needs into technical solutions that streamline processes and ensure compliance. Plan and manage system upgrades, testing cycles, and change delivery with minimal disruption. Deliver training, documentation, and ongoing support to internal users and superusers. Work with integration specialists to ensure robust, well-documented integration between BC and Salesforce.

What were looking for in our

Systems Accountant

:




Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent Must have experience in with Business Central, particularly in finance module configuration and support. Strong working knowledge of core finance processes and internal controls. Proven ability to translate operational finance needs into scalable, systemised solutions. Comfortable working independently across the organisation and technical stakeholders. Practical experience with system upgrades, user support, and process change. Excellent understanding of Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision/Business Central or similar system Intermediate level Excel and MS Office Suite Must be Fluent English, other languages a bonus and passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector Desirable:


Experience with NGO or charity sector Microsoft Business Central certifications and Advanced Excel skills Formal accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) or significant experience working closely with Finance. Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform and Middleware tools and exposure to agile delivery methods and enterprise roadmap planning. This would be an ideal role for an experienced

Safeguarding bright futures for more than 50,000 vulnerable orphans in 9 countries. Our one-to-one sponsorship programme has a built-in school attendance requirement while covering the cost of food, housing, medical care, and learning materials. Pioneering technologically innovative infrastructure projects in Pakistan, like designing and building a 25-km embankment on the Chenab River in Pakistan. Protecting an entire community from being washed away, the embankment has held back the floods each year, including Pakistans worst flooding in a decade during its last monsoon season.
