About the Role



We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable System Engineer / Senior Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development of our high-reliability, safety-critical products across the businesses industrial and aerospace product portfolios. This is an opportunity to shape the future of our condition monitoring solutions, combining technical excellence, systems thinking, and product ownership to deliver world-class outcomes for our customers.

As a key technical leader, you will be responsible for owning the full systems engineering lifecycle--from problem definition and stakeholder engagement through concept development, design, verification & validation (V&V), and deployment, ensuring that products meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Product Leadership & Ownership



Act as the technical product owner for assigned systems, influencing product strategy and roadmap. Champion customer-centric solutions, translating market needs into actionable system requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise features and functionality that balance innovation, feasibility, and business value. Support customer proposal development, providing both technical insights and commercial awareness.

Systems Engineering & Innovation



Lead the full systems engineering lifecycle: from concept definition and system architecture through design, development, V&V, and deployment. Identify and integrate emerging technologies to create innovative condition monitoring solutions. Maintain a strong theoretical grounding while applying practical, real-world systems engineering methods. Ensure all solutions meet the highest safety, reliability, and performance standards.

Delivery & Project Leadership



Plan and manage resources, schedules, and milestones to achieve successful project outcomes. Provide technical and commercial oversight, ensuring system solutions are cost-effective and robust. Mentor and guide team members, organising and directing contributions to enhance project delivery. Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives to refine our engineering processes.

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement



Serve as a bridge between engineering, product, and customers, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions. Support demonstrations, presentations, and technical discussions with customers and partners. Be a trusted advisor for customers, understanding their pain points and translating insights into product improvements.

Professional Growth



Maintain and record your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to stay at the forefront of systems engineering. Contribute to a culture of innovation, safety, and excellence within the engineering team. Be highly motivated toward delivering products and services that exceed expectations.

About you



You are an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with a proven track record of developing high-reliability or safety-critical products in regulated industries, working to standards such as DO-178C or IEC 61508 would be an advantage. You understand the importance of product safety and have hands-on experience managing it throughout the product lifecycle.

Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and the ability to simplify complex technical topics for different audiences would be a great advantage. You are comfortable translating technical complexity into clear solutions, communicating effectively with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.

Qualified to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline or with equivalent experience, you pair deep technical knowledge with commercial awareness and an understanding of how engineering decisions impact customer satisfaction and business outcomes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 45,000.00-65,000.00 per year
