About

the role



The Systems Integration Developer plays a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining integration solutions that enable seamless communication between the College's systems, applications, and data sources. The post holder will ensure that data flows securely, reliably, and efficiently across the College's digital ecosystem, supporting business processes, analytics, and digital transformation objectives.

This role will collaborate with technical teams, software suppliers, and business stakeholders to automate processes, develop APIs, and improve data interoperability across platforms such as student records systems, HR, finance, learning environments, and cloud applications.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Integration and Development*



Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using APIs, middleware, ETL tools, and scripting languages.

Build and support automated workflows between on-premises and cloud-based systems (e.g., Azure, Office 365, Google Workspace, MIS, HR, and finance platforms).

Develop data pipelines to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of information exchange between systems.

Maintain and enhance the College's Integration Platform (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate, Logic Apps, SSIS, or equivalent).

Develop reusable integration components and frameworks to standardise connectivity between systems. Data Quality and Governance*



Work closely with data owners and analysts to ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy.

Implement error handling, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms for all integrations.

Support compliance with UK GDPR, College Data Protection Policy, and Information Security Standards. Collaboration and Support*



Partner with Systems, Development, and Service Delivery teams to deliver joined-up digital solutions.

Liaise with suppliers and third parties to implement and troubleshoot system interfaces and APIs.

Provide technical documentation, diagrams, and user guides for developed integrations.

Support the IT Service Desk with escalations related to system interconnectivity and data flow issues. Continuous Improvement and Innovation*



Contribute to the Digital Transformation Strategy by identifying opportunities for process automation and integration.

Research and evaluate emerging technologies, integration frameworks, and best practices.

Champion the use of low-code/no-code tools and scripting to empower business users while maintaining IT governance.

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between 35,497 - 40,996 per annum based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
