Role Overview
As a Systems & Procurement Data Analyst, you will support the business in gathering, analysing, and reporting on data to help improve sales, stock management, and customer service. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone with strong numeracy skills, an eye for detail, and an interest in data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, clean, and organise sales, stock, and customer data from internal systems.
Produce regular reports for branch managers, sales teams, and senior management (e.g., sales by product line, slow-moving stock, margin analysis).
Support pricing and promotions analysis to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
Assist in forecasting demand to help optimise stock levels.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across branches.
Work with commercial and operations teams to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Maintain data accuracy and ensure reporting is consistent across the business.
Support ad-hoc analysis projects (e.g., branch performance, supplier negotiations).
Skills & ExperienceEssential
Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, charts).
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication skills to explain findings clearly to non-technical colleagues.
Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Desirable
Experience with Business Intelligence Software.
Previous experience in a retail, trade, or distribution business.
Understanding of stock management and sales processes.
