LiveLink Aerospace is looking for a hands-on Systems Technician to take ownership of building, configuring, and maintaining our passive radar systems in our office in Havant. You'll work at the intersection of hardware assembly, system configuration, and quality assurance--ensuring every unit meets our high standards from build through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Own the complete product lifecycle including development support, testing, documentation, demonstrations, delivery, and stock management
Maintain effective communication with suppliers and key stakeholders throughout the process
Perform precision PCB soldering, component removal, and replacement to Class 3 standards
Assemble mechanical enclosures and components using specified torque values, thread lock, and conductive gaskets
Follow mechanical drawings and assembly documentation to ensure consistent, accurate builds
Deploy pre-written Linux code to radar devices and verify successful installation
Configure and test VPN connections and network settings on assembled systems
Track and record serial numbers and part information for all components (off-the-shelf and internal)
Update and maintain assembly documentation to reflect process changes and improvements
Prepare complete documentation packages for shipping
Maintain rigorous quality standards throughout the entire build process
Conduct testing at various stages of assembly and development
Identify, report, and resolve build inconsistencies or documentation issues
Support product demonstrations and maintain systems at our in-house test facility
Troubleshoot and debug hardware and system issues during testing and demos
Collaborate with engineering teams to refine assembly processes and provide feedback on build instructions
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience with ESD-safe work environments and IPC610/IPC620 standards (training available)
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and schematics
Familiarity with RF components or radar systems (beneficial but not essential)
Basic networking knowledge (VPN configuration, IP settings, troubleshooting)
Experience with version control tools for documentation management
Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Background in low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments
Comfortable working collaboratively across engineering, logistics, and other departments
Knowledge of 3D printer setup and operation
