Job Description

A dedicated resourcing and talent lead to take full ownership of the end to end hiring plans and processes from initial scoping to offer negotiations.

World of Books is scaling and transforming to a D2C business in the UK and the US. Right now we have an interim TA lead and want to start the new FY with a permanent hire to build our capabilities to deliver our ambition and plans.

We are seeking someone to join the Global People team to broaden our internal expertise in hiring and talent, reporting to the CPO. The role has one direct report who spends 50% of their time supporting the hiring admin of our head office recruitment and supports our Operations teams. In Hungary, hiring decisions are made by our HR Manager in the country for the Engineering function.

The successful candidate will work closely with hiring managers and Business Partners to deliver and build the capabilities across our Supply Wheel (Operations HO, Demand, Supply) and Key Enablers (Tech/Product, Data Science/Analytics, Finance, People and Culture). We have an ATS, which is part of our HR System in Dayforce.

We are looking for someone with energy, drive, enthusiasm and pace. We need someone who can practically roll up their sleeves to execute the hiring requirements, while addressing the basics to evolve our talent solutions. Career growth for the role is to develop the EVP working closely with the CPO.

The role will be based at our London co-working space in Kings Cross, and we have a hybrid working model of 2/3 days in the office. Working hours are 9.00am - 5.00pm.

What you'll be doing

Talent Acquisition: Develop and implement comprehensive and consistent recruitment strategies and processes to attract direct top talent across all markets, ensuring alignment with the company's growth objectives and cultural values. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop an HR Assistant, providing guidance and support to achieve hiring targets and improve overall recruitment processes Employer Branding: Leverage social media, job boards, and other platforms to attract top tier talent in all our markets. Candidate Experience: Ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, from initial contact to onboarding. This includes owning the job grading and benchmarking, and competency frameworks. Supplier and Contract Management: Own the PSL and all contract management. Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilise recruitment metrics and analytics to monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions to optimise the hiring process. Send a weekly report to the leadership team on hiring progress. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with senior leadership, HR, and department heads to understand hiring needs, develop job descriptions, and ensure alignment with business goals Global Recruitment Initiatives: Lead and support in global recruitment initiatives to ensure we have a consistent approach to hiring in all markets and weekly reporting. Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all recruitment activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, and implement best practices to maintain high standards of hiring.

Within your first 6 months, we will expect you to have demonstrated progress towards the following key milestones and deliverables:

Successfully source and hire vacant roles to an agreed TTH KPI and attrition within the first six months. We have approximately 15/18 roles live at any one time. Map our end-to-end sourcing journey and make recommendations for change and process improvements. Use LinkedIn, online campaigns through our ATS (Dayforce) to search, identify and attract direct hires whilst reducing agency costs and improving time to hire. Efficiently qualify candidates against job criteria and pre-screen for senior roles (if required). Own management of all contractors and compliance including IR35 process. Deliver weekly updates to CPO and HR Business Partners with formal tracking and reporting metrics on hiring across the organisation and support Board and Leadership updates on progress and candidate feedback.

Significant direct recruiting/sourcing experience across a board range of disciplines such as Data & Analytics, Product, Marketing, & Operations. Experience of managing multiple searches up to and including Director level, including partnering with Executive Search firms. Strong client focus and experience in stakeholder management with proven background in commitment to continuous improvement. Passionate about Talent Acquisition - someone who cares about delivering a best in class candidate and customer experience. High energy, motivation, and drive. A creative thinker who is agile and results-focused. Strong planning and organisation skills, a proactive mindset with the capability to independently drive initiatives to work with little supervision at pace. A keen eye for detail.
