Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tape and Jointer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various construction trades, including plastering, carpentry, and masonry. This role involves preparing surfaces for finishing, applying tape and joint compound to drywall seams, and ensuring a smooth finish ready for painting or further treatment. The successful applicant will be detail-oriented, capable of working independently or as part of a team, and will possess a range of practical skills.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning and smoothing areas before application of tape and joint compound. Apply tape to joints between drywall panels and cover with joint compound to create a seamless finish. Sand down dried joint compound to achieve a smooth surface ready for painting or decoration. Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site, including those involved in roofing, plumbing, electrical work, and fabrication. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently and safely. Read and interpret schematics to understand project requirements and specifications. Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools are stored correctly after use. Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times while on-site.

Requirements

Proven experience in tape and joining or similar roles within the construction industry. Strong skills in plastering, carpentry, masonry, roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, and construction painting are highly desirable. Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to construction tasks. Ability to read blueprints or schematics accurately. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently when required.
