Post Office Assistant
Schedule: Wednesday 1pm - 5pm & Friday 1pm - 5pm
About the Role
We're looking for a reliable and customer-focused Post Office Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll provide excellent service to our customers while handling postal transactions, parcels, and general store duties. You'll play an important part in keeping operations running smoothly, supporting sales, and ensuring every customer has a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
Provide advice and information on postal services and store products
Promote special offers and upsell items where appropriate
Handle parcels correctly, ensuring accuracy and care
Cash Handling
Operate tills and process payments (cash, card, etc.) accurately
Provide correct change and receipts with attention to detail
Follow company procedures for handling money securely
Ensure safe storage of cash at all times
Loss Prevention
Follow store security procedures to minimise loss and theft
Stay alert and report any suspicious behaviour to management
Time & Productivity
Arrive on time and be ready for shifts
Manage time effectively to stay productive throughout the day
Skills & Qualities
Strong customer service and communication skills
Accuracy and attention to detail in cash handling and parcel processing
Ability to work well in a team and independently
Reliable, punctual, and organised
Previous retail or post office experience is an advantage (training provided)
