Job Description


The Medical Sciences Division seeks to appoint to the post of Taught Degrees Support Assistant within the small Taught Degrees and Quality Assurance team in the Medical Sciences Division Education Section. This post supports the growing range of activities in the Division and University relating to taught degrees.

The role is varied, with a range of activities across the academic year, and as projects arise and policies/processes develop. The role is an excellent opportunity for a new entrant to the sector who is a quick learner and eager to develop their knowledge, or for someone looking to develop their knowledge of taught degrees.

The post holder will have a wide range of responsibilities focused on supporting the quality of undergraduate and taught postgraduate degrees within the Medical Sciences Division. They will also provide operational support for the Division\'s staff award scheme for Teaching Excellence, as well as opportunities for involvement in project work and the implementation of educational procedures and policies for taught degrees.

The work of the Taught Degrees and Quality Assurance team is varied and challenging, and the post-holder will be expected to be very organised, motivated and able to manage and prioritise their workload. The post-holder should also have strong communication skills and accuracy, as well as the ability to become familiar with University regulations and procedures quickly and communicate and interpret these regulations accordingly.

This post is permanent and available on a part-time basis of 60% FTE. Although an on-site presence is a requirement of the role, the opportunity for an element of remote working is also available.
