About the role:
We are recruiting for a Tax Director to lead the tax compliance function at the firm, covering Midlands and London offices.

Overview of duties:
Responsibility for management of department, including internal training and support of management
Liaise with internal teams (Accounts, Business Management & Payroll) to ensure client affairs are co-ordinated and delivered efficiently
Identify areas where more detailed advice may be required and cross refer internally where appropriate
Manage and navigate HMRC enquiries on behalf of the client
Provide guidance and assistance to junior members of the team
Take responsibility of the billing of clients within your portfolio and associated debt collection

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Excellent organisational skills to manage workloads, monitor time charges and budgets
Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios
Ability to work under pressure with accuracy and focus
Committed to maintaining technical knowledge to a high level

Education / and or Experience:
Competent using Xero and accounting software such as Iris or similar
Cashflow forecasting, tax management and budgetary control experience preferable
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an accountancy practice
ICAEW/ ACCA (or equivalent) qualified or qualified by experience
