Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Taxi Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to communicate effectively with passengers. As a Taxi Driver, you will be responsible for transporting clients safely and efficiently to their destinations while maintaining a high standard of service.

Must live locally in the Leiston, Saxmundham or Aldeburgh Area.

This is a self employed position, and the candidate will be expected to fund their own licence from East Suffolk Council.

Duties

Safely operate the taxi vehicle in accordance with traffic laws and regulations. Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations. Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the taxi vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition. Communicate effectively with passengers, providing assistance as needed during their journey. Handle payments and provide receipts as required. Navigate through various routes using GPS or local knowledge to ensure timely arrivals. Assist passengers with heavy lifting of luggage or other items when necessary. Report any vehicle issues or incidents to management promptly.

Experience

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role is preferred. A valid commercial driving licence is essential for this position. Familiarity with local roads and traffic patterns is advantageous. Strong communication skills to interact positively with passengers and address their needs effectively. Ability to maintain composure under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally.
