Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Navigator within the Respiratory Medicine. We are looking for individuals ideally with administrative experience in a hospital or clinical environment that are able to work both within busy teams and on their own initiative.



We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will work closely with the administrative and clinical teams. You should have a professional attitude towards work and have the ability to work flexibly in a busy environment.



Main duties of the job



You will be responsible for:



Coordination of suspected TB & track ILD patient pathways from referral to treatment. Providing comprehensive secretarial support and assistance

The key aspect of your role involves dealing with the public and professionals. You must therefore be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills. Your duties will also include medical audio typing using the digital dictation system, excel, millennium systems for data entry and dealing with telephone enquiries.



Our administrative staff provide essential support to clinical teams striving to ensure the patients' experience is what we would expect for our own family and friends.



The TB & ILD Service Navigator will ensure that the both pathways are efficient and effective by tracking patients to ensure patient get treated and receive the relevant treatment should they need it in a timely manner.

This position sits within Medicine but you will be required to support the patient's pathways and by supporting patients to engage with appointments and investigations whilst working with clinical and administrative colleagues to identify and address potential pathway issues and improve patient experience.



Coordinate patient pathways, To track and expedite patient pathways to ensure all patients that need to be treated receive this in a timely manner. Responsible for admin tasks involved in managing of the patient's pathways. Responsible for day to day management, organisation and delegation of relevant tasks and roles to others as appropriate, and as part of pathway management. Responsible for liaising with different departments to influence and improve patient pathways and patient experience. To be an integral part of the TB & ILD services to provide support to the team and to members of the public suspected or diagnosed within Guildford and its catchment areas High level of interpersonal skills including well-developed abilities in client centred, non-judgemental confidential communication, negotiation, persuasion, motivational, empathetic, and able to provide advice around the service. Promote good relationships with patients, public and staff in verbal and written communication. * Any other task commensurate with the role as required
