About the Role
Leeds City College are seeking an English Teacher to join our dynamic team in the Animal Care and Land Management department on a part time, reduced year basis:
17 hours per week
39 weeks per year
Actual Salary - commencing from 13,105 to 14,745 per annum
This role due to start in September 2025 and is fixed term until July 2026.
In this role you will have the opportunity to deliver English sessions to animal care and horticulture students, as part of their programme of study.
This role will be be based at Temple Newsam and Printworks Campus with the requirement to travel between campuses on certain days during the week. Whilst this role doesn't include any practical delivery the department is based in a working farm and historical estate, so the successful candidate should like animals and be comfortable in a land-based real work environment.
The School of Animal Care and Land Management offers a wide range of study programmes, apprenticeships and Higher Education (HE). From September we will be delivering courses from entry to level 6. This role will predominantly be working with Further Education (FE) students, we will require the successful candidate to demonstrate flexibility and be able to work with a variety of learners.
What You Will Do
Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans
Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners
Record student progress
Prepare students appropriately for summative assessment
About You
The successful candidate will:
Hold a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
Have a relevant highest level qualification or degree
Have recent teaching experience and deliver lessons which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
