Job Vacancy: Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Manchester YMCA Alternative Provision

Full-Time | Monday to Friday

Maternity cover role starting September 2025 and concluding July 2026

We are seeking a passionate and committed individual to join our team as on a maternity cover basis at Manchester YMCA Alternative Provision.

About the Role:

This is a full-time role, ideal for someone with strong teaching experience and a solid understanding of alternative education settings and/or special educational needs (SEN). The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operations of our provision, helping lead a small, dedicated team in delivering high-quality, student-centred learning.

Requirements:

Teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS or equivalent) Experience in alternative provision and/or SEN settings Ability to adapt teaching and learning to meet individual student needs Confident in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour Interest in sports-based learning Experience in teaching Functional Skills - English and/or Maths Experience conducting professional meetings surrounding young people
