We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring, committed and well qualified Teacher of Art and Textiles to join the Performing and Creative Arts Faculty at Saint Felix School. This is a maternity cover role.





The successful candidate should be able to teach Art and Textiles across the whole age and ability range, Year 7 to Year 13, teaching Art at KS3 and both Art and Textiles to pupils at GCSE and A Level. The post holder will be expected to take part in the future development of the subject both within the curriculum and the extra-curricular programme.





Art and Textiles are popular and highly valued subjects at both GCSE and A Level. Students follow the Edexcel GCSE and in the Sixth Form, they have the opportunity to study the AQA Art or Textiles course.

Saint Felix School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for students aged from 2 to 18, located close to the glorious seaside town of Southwold on the Suffolk coast. Our aim is to develop well-rounded students with the skills and the personality to make a success of their lives during and after their school years.

The Performing and Creative Arts faculty are a vibrant, forward-thinking department. We have high expectations and provide suitable challenges. Learning takes place in an environment of mutual respect between teachers and learners where the School Values and Learner Profile provide a clear foundation. We also aim to give pupils the confidence to make appropriate use of ICT facilities to support their learning.





We are looking for an Art and Textiles teacher who will be able to;

Deliver exciting and inspiring science lessons across the Senior school. Deliver exciting and inspiring Art and Textiles lessons across the Senior school. The ideal candidate will have ability to teach A Level and GCSE Actively support the co-curricular programme at Saint Felix. Work with pupils of all ability and encourage pupils to develop and reach their potential in Art and Textiles.
This position would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT looking for their first teaching position. As a smaller school with a community culture, you will soon appreciate the warmth and sense of friendliness that embodies the institution.

Saint Felix, Southwold has been providing educational excellence for 120 years. A co-educational independent school for boarders and day pupils from the ages of 2 to 18.



Boarding at Saint Felix caters for full, weekly and flexi-boarders between the ages of 9-18 in three boarding houses situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Suffolk coast.



It offers an extensive curriculum with over 40 enrichment activities including the arts, drama, Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, music, sport and visual arts.
