Blessed Carlo Acutis Catholic School has been established as the result of a merger between the 4 Catholic schools in Merthyr Tydfil, thus creating a through school, providing education for learners from 3-16. This is an exciting future ahead for Catholic education in the Heads of the Valleys region. All schools are currently still based on their own sites, a new building is in development for all pupils to come together and will open in September 2026.
Bishop Hedley Campus admits children aged 11-16 from Merthyr Tydfil as well as across the Heads of the Valleys, from Glynneath to Brynmawr.
We are currently looking for a secondary school boys' Physical Education teacher to join our PE department. The department has an excellent record of achievement and the successful candidate will work alongside the current female members of staff to provide Physical and Outdoor Education to years 7-11. Academically, our provisional outcomes in summer 2025 included a Capped 9 score of 406 and 82% A*-C in GCSE Physical Education.
We welcome applications from both NQTs and experienced practitioners, and the start date for the role is 1st January 2026.
The post is offered as a permanent position and the deadline for applications is midnight on Thursday 16th October. Shortlisting and interviews will be held during week beginning 20th October.
