The Role

ABOUT THE ACADEMY

We are a new secondary school that opened in September 2021. At Great Park Academy, our principal aim is to provide outstanding education for students from Years 5 to 11. We are a popular academy with a reputation in the local community for providing a safe, positive, caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive as learners. With high expectations and standards of achievement, both academic and personal, we encourage students to make excellent progress and to achieve their goals and aspirations. We offer learning experiences that support personal development and our staff promotes a love of learning which will be with our students throughout their lives. The academy was awarded a 'Good' rating by Ofsted, we strongly recommend you read our report, which can be found here. Great Park Academy is one of two new schools within Gosforth Group multi-academy trust. Our new school building, located in Great Park, opened in September 2025 and will service 1,200 students from Year 5 to Year 11. ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a fixed-term position for maternity cover, for up to 1 year or on return of the postholder.



The successful candidate will be required to teach Dance and Drama across key stages 2, 3 and 4. They will be leading aspirational students who are passionate about the subjects, joining a supportive team and working closely with colleagues in other arts subjects.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

an outstanding practitioner with a passion for Drama and Dance the ability to teach Drama to GCSE and Dance to GCSE a proven track record of excellent achievement across all key stages (this can include initial teacher training) a commitment to fresh and exciting methods of delivering the curriculum. a relentless drive to secure the best possible outcomes for students of all abilities excellent communication and ICT skills Flexibility, resilience and a sense of humour


This role is suitable for ECT's.
