Teacher of English

to join a dynamic and forward-thinking school based in Dacorum, Hertfordshire.

The successful candidate will ensure that high-quality teaching and learning take place in every lesson, securing outstanding attainment and progress for all students at every stage of their education.

The role focuses on delivering engaging and effective English lessons that not only develop students' language and literacy skills but also inspire a deep appreciation for literature and critical communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver consistently high-quality and stimulating English lessons across all key stages. Foster strong skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking. Develop students' understanding and passion for English literature and language. Plan, prepare, and assess work to ensure that all learners make outstanding progress. Differentiate instruction to support students of varying abilities, including those with additional needs. Use assessment and data effectively to track progress, identify gaps, and implement interventions as necessary. Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated to succeed. Support wider departmental initiatives and school priorities focused on raising achievement and engagement in English.
The Ideal Candidate Will

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Be an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher with a genuine passion for English. Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Have a proven ability to deliver excellent outcomes for students of all abilities. Show creativity and adaptability in teaching approaches to engage and challenge learners. Foster a classroom culture that promotes resilience, ambition, and a love of learning. Be committed to supporting the wider life of the school and contributing to extracurricular activities where appropriate.
