Kelvin Hall School is part of Thrive Cooperative Learning Trust, formerly YHCLT. Founded in September 2016, it is now responsible for 10 schools across Hull, including 3 secondary schools and 7 primary schools.


We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to join the English Faculty at Kelvin Hall School. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive school in continuing to drive outstanding outcomes for all of our students.


We are a successful and expanding 11-16 mixed comprehensive school with approximately 1640 students on roll. We are a popular first choice of school for families in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire and are a very successful school academically. We are a large mixed secondary school of approximately 1,600 pupils aged 11-16. Kelvin Hall School is an exciting and enjoyable place to learn, where relationships between staff and pupils are positive and happy.

Kelvin Hall School was inspected by one of His Majesty's Inspectors and four additional inspectors in January 2024.



The inspectors visited lessons across the school, reviewed a range of documents, evaluated students' work, and held meetings with governors, staff, and groups of pupils. They also reviewed questionnaires from students, parents, and staff.



Kelvin Hall was judged to be "Good" across all four judgement areas and given an overall rating of "Good".
