Our Alternative Education Provision (AEP) at School of Coding & AI offers a distinctive, student-centred learning environment designed to support young people who benefit from a tailored approach outside of traditional mainstream settings. Our school focuses on Coding, Computer Science, core subjects like GCSE English and Maths, Pearson functional skills (EL3-L2) and NOCN Pearson Wellbeing to empower each learner on their unique journey.
As an accredited OCR Exam Centre, we enable students to complete GCSEs and A-Levels within a flexible and supportive setting that prioritises individual strengths, needs and aspirations. Our approach blends academic progress with emotional wellbeing, resilience and personalised support, including tailored interventions aligned with EHCPs and behaviour strategies.
We work collaboratively with students, families and external agencies to create an inclusive, nurturing space that promotes confidence, growth and lifelong learning. WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?
As an Alternative Provision Teacher you will play a vital role in changing lives--helping young people rediscover their love of learning and achieve success through a more personalised path. You'll design and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in English and Mathematics that spark curiosity, build confidence and inspire every learner to realise their full potential. In our supportive, forward-thinking environment, you will empower students to grow academically, emotionally and personally--unlocking brighter futures through the power of education.
Curriculum Mastery:
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in English and Mathematics tailored to meet the educational needs of students.
Course Development & Enhancement:
Continuously review and refine lesson materials, teaching approaches and learning activities to meet diverse learner needs and uphold the organisation's standards for excellence and innovation.
Assessment & Evaluation:
Conduct regular assessments, record and report student attainment and progress and provide constructive feedback to support continued academic development and targeted learning outcomes.
Behaviour & Inclusion:
Maintain a safe, inclusive and respectful classroom environment, promoting positive behaviour and addressing behavioural challenges in line with policies.
Pastoral Support:
Promote student wellbeing, behaviour and personal development through guidance, mentoring and individualised support.
Parental & Community Engagement:
Work collaboratively with parents, carers and community partners to foster strong relationships and improve student outcomes.
Examinations:
Prepare students for public examinations, supervise assessments and record outcomes accurately.
Safeguarding & Welfare:
Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection, maintaining student safety and wellbeing both on and off-site. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and legal requirements.
Administrative Support:
Provide efficient and accurate administrative support in line with quality expectations.
Professional Development:
Participate in training and continuous development to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
Other Duties:
Undertake additional reasonable duties in line with your role to support the department's overall objectives and the wider success of School of Coding AEP.
WHAT BACKGROUND DO I NEED TO HAVE?
Minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
Bachelors Degree with specialism in English or Mathematics.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
PGCE Certified.
Proven expertise in delivering English, Mathematics and Science aligned with UK curriculum standards.
Experience across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Experience working with students with SEN or additional needs is preferable.
Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
