Would you like to join a popular, oversubscribed school with excellent state of the art facilities?We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic individual to join our Music department on a fixed term maternity cover contract expected to last one year. Our Music department works alongside Drama and Dance as a Performing Arts department. At Furze Platt, students enjoy a broad and balanced Music curriculum that covers a variety of musical styles, genres and approaches, which lead to healthy numbers of students taking Music for GCSE, and the successful candidate would be instrumental in developing our curriculum even further. The department boasts two specialist teaching rooms, six practice rooms, a recording studio and school theatre, and these are the perfect canvas for Music students to use to create inventive, dynamic and high quality work. The Music department also has a vibrant peripatetic schedule, which helps enthuse students in rehearsal and performance, meaning the Music department is one of the hubs of extra-curricular life of the school. In collaboration with Drama and Dance, Music assists in the production of concerts, school musicals and various other public events to showcase our students' impressive talents. We are looking for a Teacher of Music to continue enthusing our young people in their musical education and in continuing the excellent levels of musical performance already present at the school.
