Teacher of PE



We have a great opportunity for an energetic and positive Teacher of PE to join our wonderful Academy. A Teacher with the enthusiasm and passion for your subject, you will be required to teach across KS3 and KS4 to the whole range of student abilities. We welcome applications from ECTs who are embarking on starting their teaching career and from more experienced colleagues.

Our academy has state of the art facilities, fit for all your teaching needs. Our facilities include a gym which is available for staff to use after school hours and a Sixth Form block.

Our students respond to PE lessons very positively and enjoy using the full range of resources. All students up to 16 receive two hours of Physical Education a week, in single hour blocks. Alongside these core hours, at key stage four we offer GCSE PE and BTEC PE which we have previously experienced great success in. At key stage five we offer Level 3 Cambridge Technical in sport and physical activity that can either be studied at extended certificate, diploma or extended diploma level. We will be commencing our second year as an established football academy in partnership with Luton Town FC. Overall, physical education is well established and respected within the academy.

We have an excellent fitness suite available for staff and student use, a full-size sports hall, dance studio, a full sized 3g Astroturf, outdoor basketball court area and field with a rugby and football pitch in the winter and 200m track and rounders pitches in the summer. Our classrooms are all fitted with interactive whiteboards and the academy has numerous ICT suites and laptop trolleys that can be booked for use in lessons.

Key Duties



Be able to develop, plan and deliver effective and high-quality learning experiences to all students Be an aspirational professional who is enthusiastic, influential, and committed to working in pursuit of success for the academy and its learners. To set high expectations for all pupils, to deepen their knowledge and understanding and to maximise their achievement. To assess pupils' work systematically and use the results to inform future planning, teaching, and curricular development.

The successful candidate will



Have qualified teacher status and experience delivering good English lessons. Willing and committed to developing and sharing outstanding teaching practice. Able to work in partnership with students, parents, staff, academy council and the wider Community. Have demonstrable commitment to inclusive teaching and learning. Be able to demonstrate the appropriate motivation to work with young people. Use data to inform target setting and planning.

AST 1-12 dependent on experience

Contract:

Full time, permanent
