Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning and delivering lessons in

Foundation Maths and Computer Science

, ensuring they are engaging and tailored to student ability. Support students individually and in small groups, helping them overcome learning challenges and gain confidence in core concepts. Adapt teaching approaches and materials to accommodate

diverse learning needs

, including students with EAL (English as an Additional Language) or additional support requirements. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to lead teachers and/or academic managers. Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance lesson delivery and participate in relevant professional development opportunities. Contribute to the overall academic and personal development of learners.

Essential Requirements

Strong subject knowledge in

Mathematics and Computer Science

, particularly at Key Stage 3/Foundation GCSE level. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to young learners. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and show initiative when required. Commitment to safeguarding, student welfare, and inclusive education.

Desirable

Previous experience working in a school, college, or tuition setting. A degree or recognised qualification in Maths, Computer Science, Education, or a related subject. Experience supporting students with SEND or EAL. Familiarity with UK exam boards (e.g. AQA, Edexcel) and the Foundation Tier curriculum.

QTS or PGCE

qualification (not essential but advantageous).
