The School of History is seeking to appoint a Teaching Administrator on 0.8 FTE contract to join its professional services team. The post-holder will provide administrative support for the Chair of the Medieval History Degree Programme. They will also provide support for the academic staff responsible for running large first- and second-year undergraduate modules and for colleagues who teach smaller third- and fourth-year courses. They will work closely with the School Manager, School's Office Co-ordinator and Academic Support Officer to deliver this support. In addition, the post-holder will undertake general office duties and provide organizational assistance to the broader team as well as to academic colleagues.
We are looking for a candidate who has administrative experience within an office environment. You must be a collaborative team member who pays good attention to detail. You will communicate effectively in writing and orally with a wide range of stakeholders, including enquirers, current students, academic staff as well as colleagues in other academic schools and administrative units.
This is a varied role, and the post holder will be required to manage their time effectively and adopt a proactive approach to their work.
The starting date for the position is as soon as possible.
