The Physics and Astronomy Department is located in the heart of the historical area of Bloomsbury. Scientific research and study has been a strong feature of UCL since its inception in 1826 and the Department is currently one of the top ranked Physics departments in the country, and indeed the world.
About the role
------------------
The Education Support Team in Physics & Astronomy has been recognised for its excellence in Professional Services Awards and is a strong and cohesive team dedicated to providing exceptional support for staff and students. This role will support the delivery of taught programmes offered by the department, focussing mainly on postgraduate taught programmes but also some aspects of undergraduate programmes also.
This role is a fixed term maternity cover role for up to 12 months that is also available to undertake as a secondment.

About you

The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing excellence, a team player who understands the importance of supporting close colleagues but also with the ability to work alone. It is expected that you are a quick learner, able to understand sometimes complex situations and a 'people person' who can apply common sense and empathy when working with vulnerable students and is resilient when working on multiple deadlines at pressurised points in the academic year.
It is essential that you are experienced in support/administrative work in HE or other educational/customer focussed sector.
