Qualifications & Education
Good general education to GCSE level (including Maths and English Grade C/4 or above).
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Teaching and Learning.
Current First Aid qualification.
Read, Write, Inc. Phonics trained.
ELSA trained (desirable).
Experience & Knowledge
Experience of working under direction as well as using own initiative appropriately.
Experience of supporting children with individual needs.
Knowledge of the key factors that affect the development of children's learning.
Experience of working with children in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Competencies & Skills
Ability to keep and regularly update records of activities undertaken and outcomes, to inform the class teacher.
Excellent common sense and judgement.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with children, parents, and staff.
Ability to display children's work effectively within and outside the classroom.
Confident in the use of ICT to support learning and administration.
Ability to implement effective behaviour management strategies.
Commitment to following all safeguarding procedures.
Ability to tailor learning activities to meet the current needs of the children.
Skilled in leading small group interventions.
Competent in assessing children through observations.
Ability to plan and organise classroom areas to create stimulating and engaging learning environments.
Able to use initiative and take responsibility where appropriate.
