About the Role

:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Bournemouth. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with children who have a variety of emotional and mental health needs, supporting them in their academic, social, and personal development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping children overcome challenges and a desire to make a real difference in their lives.

Key Responsibilities

:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. Assist the class teacher in the delivery of lessons and learning activities. Support students in developing social and emotional skills through tailored interventions. Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe, positive learning environment. Work closely with other professionals, including SENCO, therapists, and parents, to ensure the best outcomes for students. Support students during break times, lunch, and transitions throughout the day.

What We're Looking For

:

Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH or additional needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students. A calm and patient approach, with the ability to handle challenging situations in a constructive manner. A proactive, flexible, and adaptable mindset. A positive attitude. A passion for helping children with additional needs succeed and thrive.
