Teaching Assistant Level 2 - Pupil Support Contract for KS1 child with Autism



(Temporary post until 31/08/26 when it will be reviewed)



The Governing Body and Headteacher of St Mary's CE (Aided) Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated pupil support teaching assistant (Level 2) to join our dedicated KS1 team supporting pupils with SEND.



Our teaching assistants play a vital role in the educational, personal and social development of our children. We require all our staff to be friendly, hardworking, flexible and able to use their own initiative.



We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and caring professional, with knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum, phonics and SEND provision and ideally an understanding or experience of autism.



Hours of work are 32.5 hrs per week (Monday Friday), term time only.



The salary for this post is 19,700 per annum.



You will:



Join a team committed to achieving the school's vision and values.



Need to have had recent experience of working in an KS1



Be expected to possess a strong knowledge of KS1 good practice.



Have experienced additional SEN training.



Have experience of supporting children with SEND.



Be able to liaise with the SEND team, taking direct instruction from the class teacher and SENCo to undertake work, care and support programmes to enable access to learning for pupils with a statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health Care Plan.



Be required to attach high expectations to empathy and care.



Be able to form strong and professional working relationships with parents and carers, colleagues and other professionals.



Be able to exhibit a mix of hard work and initiative with a willingness and ability to follow school policies and procedures.
