About the role





As a Teaching Assistant at Haddenham Community Infant School, you will play a vital part in creating an inspiring and supportive learning environment. You'll work closely with the class teacher to help plan and deliver engaging KS1 activities, while providing tailored one to one and small-group support to pupils, including those with additional needs.


Your role will include preparing resources, helping to organise the classroom, and maintaining vibrant displays that celebrate children's learning. You will encourage positive behaviour, uphold the school's values, and nurture pupils' social, emotional, and physical development each day.


In addition, you will support lunchtime cover, ensuring pupils enjoy safe and positive play, and supervise children during transitions and playtimes. Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and external professionals, you will help ensure every child feels included, supported, and safe, contributing to their wellbeing and safeguarding at all times.


About you





Essential:



A positive, patient, and nurturing approach to working with young children. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development. A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the school's ethos. Be able to demonstrate levels of numeracy and literacy to GSCE. Level 2 qualification or equivalent in child development or related course.


Desirable:



Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent). Experience working in a KS1 setting. Experience supporting children with SEND. Understanding of early phonics schemes.
