Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and enhancing the learning experience for students, particularly those with special educational needs. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and promoting the development of all students, including those with disabilities and autism.

Responsibilities



Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of students. Support students with special educational needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum. Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring and mentoring to enhance learning outcomes. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation from all students. Help manage classroom behaviour and provide support during lessons to maintain a productive learning atmosphere. Collaborate with teachers to develop individualised education plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.

Skills



Experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting. Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for working with individuals with disabilities. Familiarity with teaching methodologies and techniques that support diverse learning styles. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and colleagues. Experience in tutoring or mentoring roles, demonstrating the ability to motivate and inspire learners. Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and strategies for supporting individuals on the spectrum. A compassionate approach towards working with people with disabilities, fostering their independence and confidence.
