Job Description

Due to an increase in pupil numbers, Mountjoy School is seeking to appoint additional Bank Teaching Assistants.



Full training will be provided by our experienced and skilful team, so if you are new to Special Schools, you will be fully supported in your new role.



It would be an advantage if applicants had experience of supporting young people who present with additional needs and have an understanding of child / learning development.



Applicants must have achieved a qualification in English/literacy and mathematics/numeracy, equivalent to at least Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework. (e.g. GCSE grade C or 4)



Working hours are as follows:



Monday 8.55am to 4.45pm



Tuesday to Thursday 8.55am to 3.45pm



Friday 8.55am to 3.35pm



We would also consider all 5 days, working from 10.00am to 2.00pm



Actual Salary 18,231 - 18,519 per annum (Grade 4, SCP 4-5)



This job is Term Time Only for 31 hours per week and 39 weeks per year.



The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.



The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.

Keeping Children Safe in Education



Our school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
