Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism and other disabilities. This role involves assisting teachers in delivering lessons, providing individual support to students, and promoting inclusive practices within the classroom.

Duties

Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of all students. Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they can fully participate in classroom activities. Foster a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages student growth and development. Help manage classroom behaviour and implement strategies to promote positive interactions among students. Support students during group activities, encouraging collaboration and communication skills. Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources as needed. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher regarding individual achievements and challenges. Maintain a clean and organised classroom environment conducive to learning.

Experience

Previous experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities or special educational needs, is highly desirable. Familiarity with teaching methodologies and strategies for supporting children with autism is advantageous. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with students, teachers, and parents. Experience in tutoring or mentoring roles will be beneficial in providing additional academic support to students. A background in special education or related fields will be considered an asset.
