Rawmarsh Thorogate School is a happy 1 form entry school situated in Rawmarsh, Rotherham.

We are looking for a teaching assistant to enhance our SEN support across school, working in our Year 4 Class to support a pupil who has additional needs. It is initially up until Christmas with a possibility of it being extended - this depends on how well the pupil settles and other staffing needs.

The successful candidate will need to evidence:



English and maths to GCSE C level or equivalent. Real enthusiasm, patience and resilience for working with children. An understanding of safeguarding principles and a willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

The right person

Will work 1:1 and in groups supporting a child(ren) Will possibly already have experience working with pupils with social communication difficulties and associated difficulties. Be able to improve the communication and interaction of the supported pupil under the direction of the teacher. May have experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and of delivering a personalised curriculum either in SEN settings or mainstream school. Will support the sensory needs of the pupil Will be able to challenge the cognition and learning of the pupil Is flexible, pro-active and hands-on Has vision, energy and enthusiasm for this challenge and has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills

To follow the policies, procedures and guidelines of Rawmarsh Thorogate Primary School. Any other duties which may be required from time to time.
