Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young individuals, particularly those with special needs, including autism and ADHD. This role is essential in providing support to teachers and students, fostering an inclusive learning environment that encourages growth and development.

Duties

Assist the lead teacher in delivering educational programmes tailored to the needs of students, particularly those with autism and other disabilities. Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons, helping them engage with the curriculum effectively. Facilitate communication between students and teachers, ensuring that all students feel heard and understood. Support classroom management by helping maintain a positive learning environment. Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources that cater to diverse learning styles. Engage in activities that promote social skills and emotional development among students. Supervise students during breaks and transitions, ensuring their safety and well-being. Collaborate with special education professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with specific needs.

Requirements

Experience working with young individuals, particularly those with ADHD or special educational needs. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, teachers, parents and care givers. Background in teaching or tutoring is highly desirable. Familiarity with special education practices and strategies for supporting children with autism and ADHD is an advantage. A genuine passion for working with young individuals and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
