SEND Experienced Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or 3) - Full-Time Long-Term Support Role

A Mainstream Primary School in Widnes is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with SEND experience for a full-time long-term support role. This rewarding position involves providing one-to-one support to a child in Early Years who requires assistance with various aspects of learning and day-to-day life skills.

Position Details:

  • Role: Teaching Assistant (SEND experienced)
  • Employment Type: Full-time, long-term support role
  • Level: Level 2 or 3 TA qualification required
  • Location: Widnes, United Kingdom
  • Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, term time
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: The ideal candidate should hold a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is essential for this role.
  • Support Skills: Candidates should have a strong understanding of supporting children with diverse learning needs and be familiar with various strategies to facilitate their progress.
  • Patience and Empathy: The successful applicant must demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach when working with the child to foster their development and independence.
  • Collaboration: Effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals is essential to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to the child\'s support.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to a child in Early Years with various aspects of learning and day-to-day life skills.
  • Assist the child in understanding and completing tasks, adapting materials and resources as necessary.
  • Implement individualised strategies and interventions to support the child\'s specific needs and learning goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and other professionals involved in the child\'s care to ensure a consistent approach.
  • Monitor and record the child\'s progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to assessment and review processes.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the child, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on the child\'s progress and addressing any concerns.
