Teaching Assistant (Chimes provision)

Location:

Dawn House School, Rainworth, Nottinghamshire

Salary:

Actual 21,628.29 per annum (FTE 24,333)

Working pattern:

Permanent contract, working 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday; Term time plus 1 week during the school closure period (total working weeks 40 weeks per annum)

Start Date:

September 2025

Role Overview



We are looking for a committed and proactive Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with pupils who have speech, language, and communication difficulties. This role involves providing tailored support to meet their individual learning, emotional, and behavioural needs. Supporting their learning and development both within and beyond the classroom, while contributing to a positive and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide learning support tailored to pupils' speech and language needs. Working 1:1 you will need to build a strong, trusting relationship with pupils whilst maintaining professional boundaries. Working closely with teaching staff, support teams, and parents/carers to help each child reach their full potential

What we are looking for:



GCSE level numeracy and literacy (Grade C or above). A passion for supporting children with complex needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, empathy, and consistency, and will be committed to helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning. Strong interpersonal skills and a "can-do" attitude. Understanding of child development and barriers to learning (training provided).
