We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism. This role involves assisting teachers in delivering lessons, providing one-on-one support to students, and fostering an inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning and development.
Responsibilities
Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students.
Provide support to children with special educational needs, including those with disabilities and autism, ensuring they can fully participate in classroom activities.
Foster positive relationships with students, offering encouragement and mentoring to enhance their learning experience.
Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote a positive learning environment.
Support individual students or small groups during lessons, providing tutoring as needed to reinforce concepts taught by the teacher.
Communicate effectively with teachers and parents regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
Maintain a safe and organised classroom environment, ensuring all materials are readily available for use.
Requirements
Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Strong communication skills are essential for interacting effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
A background in tutoring or mentoring is advantageous, as it demonstrates the ability to support student learning effectively.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help children succeed are critical attributes for this role.
