Job Title: Team Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse



Salary: 35,000-40,000 per annum DOE



Location: Veterinary Specialists Scotland, Livingston



Job Type: Permanent



Hours: 40 hour week, including weekends



We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our team in a Team leader role.

Veterinary Specialists Scotland (VSS) is a multi-disciplinary referral hospital at Deer Park, Livingston, close to Edinburgh and Glasgow.


VSS is conveniently located off junction 3 of the M8 motorway, and also accessible via the M9. Close to both Edinburgh and Glasgow, we are also easily reached from Stirling and the Borders.


Overview


As an experienced veterinary nurse in a Team Leader role, you will be critical to the provision and leadership of high standards of client and patient care, this will include strategic and operational leadership across the practice, direct and indirect line management responsibilities, and a nursing voice contributing to site level conversations.


In this role you will be a key member of the nurse leadership team, working collaboratively with the Head of Nursing Services, Clinical leads, Hospital Director, Team Leaders and clinical teams to passionately deliver quality patient care, an unrivalled client experience through teamwork, clear communication and utilisation of your knowledge and skills.


Approximately 80% of your role will be spent undertaking clinical duties, providing support to your clinical teams to deliver an excellent service to patients, to include partaking in the on-call rota as required.


You will ensure that patients are managed effectively from a nursing perspective to support the financial health of the practice.


You will provide direct line management to leadership roles and other allocated members of the nursing team.

You need to be a highly motivated self-starter with:

The desire to provide the best clinical service to all our patients. The ability to work as part of a team and individually. An inclination to learn and develop your clinical skills. A passion for mentoring and training colleagues. The successful candidate will have at least 3 year's experience in a referral setting and will demonstrate effective scheduling and supportive team leadership skills.
