To provide supervisory assistance to staff and individuals we support within a day care service. To assist in the development and delivery of support planning that is reflective of service user schedules and outcome-based plans. To supervise and where necessary co-ordinate the day to day supports delivered within the service ensuring that the needs of the individuals, we support are met via appropriate staff scheduling. To observe and review quality of service and report changes in need or concerns to line management.
Main Duties
- To ensure that the individuals we support needs are identified and detailed in Care and Support plans, Outcome Based Support Plans or appropriate other plans of support.
- To ensure that staff are provided with work schedules that meet the needs of the individuals that we support.
- To provide day to day supervision that ensures staff are supported to deliver needs led support and care.
- To carry out regular checks in the service and to monitor compliance with the day support practices and policies; meeting with individuals we support and observing quality of supports that are delivered by staff.
- To ensure that all plans belonging to individuals that we support and required risk assessments are reviewed and updated as required and in line with regulatory and organisational requirement.
- To identify areas of good practice and areas for development and report back to the service Manager.
- To participate in regular staff team meetings.
- To provide direct care and support to individuals that we support when necessary.
- To contribute to staff supervision and development sessions under the direction of the service Manager.
- To work shift duties as necessary in accordance with the needs of the individuals we support and the service.
- To assist in writing and keeping routine reports.
- To participate when required in case conference/review, either to support or represent individuals we support and/or the organisation.
- To participate in the assessment of individuals we support, and the development of individual plans based on identified needs.
- To work with the staff team in helping to provide a service that is reflective of individual need and consistent within the Health and Social Care standards.
- To ensure the staff team that we are responsible for are fully aware of their role and the expectations placed on them by the individuals we support, the organisation, commissioners and the regulatory bodies.
- To liaise with appropriate agencies concerning the support delivered to all service users when required.
- To facilitate and encourage the development of the individuals we supports' independence dignity and overall quality of life.
- To undertake delegated work, as previously agreed by the service Manager.
- To be committed to the principles and values of the organisation in providing a quality service within Academy House Day Care Services.
- To represent the organisation in a positive manner at all times.
Training and Supervision
- You will participate in any training relevant to your role and/or development needs.
- You will have the opportunity to be involved in Team and Individual Supervision and Appraisal and you will make yourself available for such sessions.
- You will participate in Team Planning and Team Building.
- You will hold formal supervision sessions with staff in line with organisational guidelines.
- You will take personal responsibility for putting your training and supervision into practice and for advising your manager of any training needs.
Organisational Responsibilities
- You will adhere, at all times, to our Policies and Procedures.
- You will maintain a safe working environment, ensuring your own personal safety and the safety or others. In addition, you will ensure that all staff for whom you are responsible for, as well as any visitors to the services adhere to health and safety guidance at all times.
- You will ensure that all statistical and/or information required by the organisation is collated and forwarded to the relevant personnel.
- You will maintain records which evidence service delivery to each individual to ensure that accurate and timely returns can be made to commissioners, care managers and anyone involved in the support review process.
- You will communicate clearly with colleagues so that our services operate effectively.

- You will ensure that no action or omission on your part is detrimental to the interests, condition or safety of the individuals we support or the staff for whom you are responsible for.
