The Opportunity




We have an opportunity for an experienced & highly motivated Team Leader (First Line Manager) to work at our flagship concrete products site at Hulland Ward.


Hulland Ward manufactures a wide variety of Concrete Products for the DIY and Construction sectors. The site is divided into several manufacturing units, employing in the region of 200 people and is the largest Precast Concrete manufacturing site in the UK.


You will be integral to the Management team, reporting directly to the Factory Manager; whilst also working closely with Maintenance, Technical, Site services, Administration & IMS Teams. You will effectively manage the Health, Safety and Welfare of the employees within the team(s) fully complying with all company standards, HSE legislation and values of Zero Harm at all times. You will behave in line with our FREDIE principles (Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement) to deliver the production plan OTIF within agreed standard costs.



You will maintain product quality standards, identifying and reacting to all non-conformances, promoting and delivering continuous improvement. You will have responsibility & autonomy for the day-to-day management of all Factory Operatives within your team(s) promoting good working practices, whilst contributing to and improving upon positive interdepartmental relationships with all other site teams.

The working pattern is a rotating shift of 6AM till 3PM Mon to Fri and 3PM till 12.30AM Mon to Fri.



Who you are



You will have prior experience in managing a production team. Experience in Safety, Health and Environment is desirable. A real passion for developing yourself and others whilst contributing as part of a wider team. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplined environment to deliver productivity and cost improvements. Strong Communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with others. Strong customer focus with the willingness to find solutions. Self-motivation and initiative to make decisions. Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
